The National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements is a nongovernment, not-for-profit corporation chartered by Congress to:
Collect, analyze, develop and disseminate in the public interest information and recommendations about:
- protection against radiation; and
- radiation measurements, quantities and units, particularly those concerned with radiation protection.
In carrying out this mission NCRP monitors areas in which the development and publication of NCRP materials can make an important contribution to the public interest. NCRP is continually updating and revising its recommendations and careful objective book reviews by individuals not connected with NCRP constitute a valuable input to its work.
