Executive Summary:
Proceedings of the Thirty-Fifth Annual Meeting held April 7-8, 1999 (including Taylor Lecture No. 23). The purpose of this meeting is to discuss contemporary issues involving radiation protection in medicine. This topic involves expertise from many different fields including medicine, radiation biology and health physics. This meeting is unique in that it is rare to have individuals with such diverse areas of expertise at one meeting. The meeting has two major objectives. First, many individuals in the field of radiation protection are not familiar with common uses of radiation in medicine. In order for them to be aware of the problems faced by physicians, they need to be aware of the everyday applications that use radiation. Second, physicians often do not have the technical background necessary to appreciate some of the radiation protection issues. An important goal of the meeting is to inform physicians about contemporary radiation protection issues. ISBN 0-929600-62-6
